Beginning Lithography
Lithography is a process where you draw on a prepared limestone slab with a greasy pencil (or other substance). Then you treat the stone with gum arabic and nitric acid. When you wet the stone and roll ink onto it, the ink sticks to your drawing but not the stone.
Lithographs are typically printed on good quality paper, but since I consider myself primarily a textile artist, I printed several of each image on 100% cotton. Below, the first image is printed on paper and the other three are on various prints. For "Quiltmaker 3" the first two are printed on paper.
